In this special episode of The Cook Podcast, recorded back in March, Rick Mellinger, global vice president for advertising and promotions compliance for Cook’s Ethics & Compliance function, sits down with Dave Reed, who retired after 35 years with the company. Dave’s career in medicine started in the 1970s, when he worked as an x-ray technician in hospitals in his native Pennsylvania. He started at Cook as a district manager, moved to Bloomington in the ’90s to become a national sales manager, and was part of the group that helped consolidate Cook’s North American customer and distribution services, a team that he then went on to lead before being named vice president of Healthcare Business Solutions. Dave became one of the most respected leaders in the healthcare supply chain industry. In August, five months after he retired, he was inducted into the Bellwether Hall of Fame for Healthcare Supply Chain leadership.

In this interview, Dave talks about the evolution of medicine, the medical device industry, and Cook over the last four decades. It’s a good one, so give it a listen!
