Outrun cancer with Cook
Cancer will affect most people, whether it’s a personal diagnosis or someone you love. According to the American Cancer Society, cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States and an estimated 1,500 Americans die from it every day.
Show your support of a loved one and those affected by cancer in our community by running or walking in the 17th Annual Hoosiers Outrun Cancer event in Bloomington, Indiana. Hoosiers Outrun Cancer has helped raise more than $2.3 million in support of the IU Health Olcott Center, which provides cancer education at no cost to patients and their families in south central Indiana. Registration for the race is just $25 and includes a long-sleeved t-shirt. You can sign up in advance at hoosiersoutruncancer.org or on site the day of the event.
The race will take place on Saturday, September 17 at the IU Memorial Stadium. The 1-Mile Kid’s Run and the 1-Mile Family Walk both begin at 10 am, followed by the 5k Timed Race at 10:20 am and the 5k Walk at 10:25 am.
This year Cook will be sponsoring the Kids’ Zone. Look for the Cook table on race day to pick up some swag, chat with members of the Wellness team, and hang out after the run.
Customized shirts to honor loved ones available
Until September 30, you can also purchase a customized t-shirt in honor of a loved one at http://cook.wearthefund.com. T-shirts begin at $23.99 and a portion of the proceeds benefits Hoosiers Outrun Cancer.
See you at the start line!

I signed up. Hope to see some of you there!
I’ve lost my parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends to different types of cancers.
And have a sister-n-law battling breast cancer now, and doing well. This is a great cause!
I know what I will be doing Sept 17th, Out(walking) Cancer.
It’s a fun event for a great cause. Hope to see many of you there.
