Backorders are down thanks to extra hours

With the majority of our products built by hand, the only way to increase production is to increase the number of people or the number of hours that are worked. So we started a second Big Push of overtime hours about a month ago and it’s going really well.

Here’s a look at the impact the production team’s extra work has had on reducing backorder numbers over the last month. The number of units on backorder is dropping.

On average, production teams have been working an additional 15,000 hours per week. That’s like having more than 375 extra people working 40 hours each week! So we are on the right track. Thank you, everyone, for your patience and all the hard work. We will continue to keep you updated.

  9. How can we ever thank all our colleagues ‘in’ the production?! I can only say that ‘out’ in the field there are lots of surgeons who like and prefer our products (Cook is best!) to all other products and help thousands of patients on longterm. Their lives are saved or made worth living again!
I hope this helps a bit to recover from the last months hard work.

  12. It’s truly amazing! So many people that are working 6 or 7 longs days every week for the last months and are sacrificing so much family / private time to get the products to our customers faster. I can imagine the distance between the field (customer) and production facility is a long one and that appreciation for all those extra working hours is not always felt. Well, please be assured that all your hard work is seen and hugely appreciated. When you are tired or maybe frustrated with the situation, take a look again at all the reactions in this blog and feel that your hard work is so much appreciated and truly matters to our customers and patients. Respect!!!
