Everybody wins

It is no exaggeration to say that, over the last four years, all Cook employees have had to deal with a significant amount of change in their work life. New roles, new processes, new demands, and new stresses have become the new normal as we move through transformation.

One of the most significant changes during this time has been the shift from 10 different strategic business units (SBUs) to 2 clinical divisions—Vascular and MedSurg. This decision was based on feedback from Cook’s customers, who were often confused by the SBU model.

The Vascular division was formed by combining the products and people from four of Cook’s SBUs: Peripheral Intervention, Interventional Radiology, Aortic Intervention, and Lead Management.

Over the last two years, one of Vascular’s areas of focus has been to cross train their sales reps (called district managers–DMs for short) on the products from all of the former SBUs that now make up their division. The cross training required the reps to be away from their territories for weeks at a time, but the benefits of the additional knowledge are already paying off for patients.

To celebrate those successes and to encourage more DMs to devote time to training on new products, Vascular produced three videos to tell the stories of the good things that can happen when teams work together to solve problems and embrace new opportunities.

The videos were originally shown at February’s Vascular Americas Business Meeting in West Baden. You can watch one of them below.
