First company podcast

Hi everyone,

As we continue to listen to your feedback, we’ve heard lots of interesting ideas and suggestions on how to improve the company. One of those ideas was to create a company podcast. We are giving this a try to give all employees a new option for connecting with each other and the company.

The first episode of The Cook Podcast features Noah Lynch, an assembler in Radiology Special Sets and the employee who emailed me the suggestion for a podcast. Noah and I sat down and discussed some interesting questions, including my thoughts on the changes happening in the company and how decisions get made.

There are two ways to listen to The Cook Podcast. One is by clicking on the play button below. The second is to use your preferred podcast application. If you have an iPhone, we recommend using the Podcast app. If you have any other type of phone, there are variety of podcast apps, like Podcast Addict and Pocket Cast.

You can manually subscribe by adding the podcast URL to your preferred app. Complete instructions for how to do this on your desktop computer or iPhone are available here. Printed instructions are available at Ellettsville, Canton, Spencer, and in the newsletter racks outside of the manufacturing areas at Park 48.

If you have any questions about how to subscribe to the podcast on your device, contact CookPodcast@CookMedical.com.

Because we are trying something new, we want to hear your feedback. Please send your feedback, thoughts, or questions to me at Pete.Yonkman@CookMedical.com or Questions@CookMedical.com.

  8. Great Podcast,
What I take away from this one is that, perception about what we do @ Cook for what reason, Internally, needs more attention as we all do know why we do what we do externally.. great Job Noah, Pete… perhaps have different topics in the future… manufacturing, regulatory, distribution … thanks again, K

  9. What a wonderful way to start you morning. I loved listening to the podcast and hearing about the different areas.
I loved the one on one and the open communication between Pete and Noah.

  10. Great work Noah!
To the team that put this together, well done.
Putting Noah in the seat rather than a manager was a great idea!

  12. Really enjoyed listening and learning during this!!!
My favorite part was Pete saying if your parents get sick, do you want them to use a Cook product or not?
    Absolutely yes!!!

  13. This podcast idea is outstanding! I really enjoyed listening to Pete and Noah speaking candidly about anything and everything COOK! I look forward to the next one.

  14. I agree that this is a great way to communicate company information – I enjoyed learning more about the company via this podcast, especially as I’m with Cook Australia. In my candid view, it was a little confusing at first, as it was advertised as a discussion between Pete & Noah… shouldn’t they have been up first? Overall, a good start.

  15. Noah and Pete, that was very entertaining. I saw that it was over an hour long when I opened it, and thought that too long. It was the perfect length for my flight from Chicago to Cleveland and I enjoyed every second. Thanks guys, keep’em coming!

  16. What a great idea. Everyone has the means to express themselves in a positive way…..It’s a unique place to be-glad to be a part of it.Great job …..Cheers to Noah and Pete.

  19. Mountain Dew ‘Baja Blast’, how do you want to be remembered, non-conformance team, goal-setting and much more on an intimate level!

    Phenomenal podcast – highly recommend

  20. Yeah. Vintage stuff on your maiden podcast. Communication should not be such a rare occurrence. We all learn when we learn to listen. Noah, Pete, thanks; don’t wait another year to hit us with your next best shot, OK?

  21. This was so much fun to listen to! Thanks Noah and Pete for the laughs and your personal insights on the company! I can’t wait to hear more podcasts from other areas at Cook. #BajaBlast2018

  22. Transformation reminds me of a book I read a few years ago: The Medici Effect by Frans Johansson. Building teams through teamwork and extra-discipline learning.

  23. The podcast was great, loved Pete and Noah together. Its great getting a peak into other people’s experiences here at Cook.

  24. I have been with Cook for 17 years also. I am very proud of all I have done over the years. My mom is alive in part due to a Cook product. I also have two beautiful nephews with help from Cook products. I love your lunches.

  25. haha…. @ChristopherMiller – #BajaBlast2018 we should trend that!

I had never even tasted it before, and because of this podcast, I tried it the other day. It’s OK. 😉

    1. Thanks! If #BajaBlast2018 trends, I’ll finally have something to be proud of!

  26. As a professional podcast listener and overall expert criticizing things, I would rank this on my personal podcast ranking as ‘super awesome.’

For real tho, the production was great, pacing was perfect, content was interesting, and the conversation between Noah and Peter was candid and engaging. This was like a “for real” podcast and if this is what we have in store for future podcasts, we’re in for a treat!

  27. Noah obviously has a great personality and did an awesome job with Pete’s interview, very enjoyable!

The podcast scenario would be a fantastic training tool for our field based employees since they spend so much time on the road. This could be a series of brief refreshers on each specialty’s focus products and their key differentiating features.

    Well done!

  28. This was fantastic!!! I loved learning about the teams introduced as well as the interview. It would be great to have more of these.

  29. I drive 45 miles to work one way and enjoy passing the time by listening to podcasts. I will definitely be adding this one to the line up. I think this is a great way to communicate company information.
