Endoscopy’s Ray Boudreau shares the story of the “biggest competition of his life”

Every day, many of us at Cook Medical have ways to impact patient lives. Whether it be indirectly, such as in a manufacturing, regulatory, or product management role, or directly, like a sales rep. What’s unique about sales reps is that they often get to witness the outcome our devices can offer a patient in person. Our field representatives work with healthcare providers to select and properly use our devices on their patients.

Ray Boudreau, who has worked as an Endoscopy sales rep for the last 17 years, is known for his passion, product and procedural knowledge, and deep relationships with his customers. In 2021, he earned the prestigious and coveted “Marsha Dreyer Award.” But prior to that, in December of 2020, Ray heard the diagnosis no one wants to hear, “You have pancreatic cancer.” That initiated the biggest competition of his life.

Earlier this year, Ray sat down for an Endoscopy Today Podcast interview with Kelly Roles, an Endoscopy Clinical Training manager. In this intimate conversation, Ray shares his story of going from rep to patient and what it means to be an unlikely survivor of this highly fatal disease.
