Red, white, and yellow lanterns lit up historic Military Park in downtown Indianapolis on Saturday, October 6, for the annual Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light the Night walk. Each year, this inspirational event brings together Indianapolis-based companies, supporters of the LLS mission, and survivors of blood cancer for a night of music, food, and celebration.

Cook Regentec began their partnership with LLS in 2017 by raising more than $4,500 for the cause. This year, this small, but mighty, team of employees raised more than $13,000 for LLS, well surpassing their goal of $8,000.

Cook Regentec hosted several fundraising events, including a highly competitive change war, in which multiple teams competed against one another in hopes of collecting the most funds, typically in the form of coins. This event raised more than $1,900. Other events throughout the year contributed to Regentec’s fundraising success, including the annual company picnic complete with a dunk tank, raffle baskets, and a silent auction. Regentec employees also hosted a bake sale, pancake breakfast, Trash-to-Treasure garage sale, and a chili cook-off throughout their fundraising campaign.

“Teaming up to support an organization like LLS gives us a unique chance to help patients and their families,” said Cook Regentec President Rob Lyles. “Campaigns like Light the Night remind us that by working together, we can make medicine better.”

Cook Regentec held a kick-off event in August to launch into its fundraising efforts. Cook MyoSite Product Manager Jenna Dale gave an inspiring speech about what LLS and companies like Regentec mean to her and her family. Her niece, Audrey, was diagnosed with leukemia and was this year’s Honored Hero at the Indianapolis Light the Night event.

“Audrey absolutely thrives on the bond the LLS community has created, and it gives her strength knowing there are companies working on better treatments, as well as individuals providing support and encouragement through her battle,” said Jenna.

Funds from the LLS Light the Night event provide patient support services and go toward pioneering promising cancer research. For more information about LLS, please visit http://www.lls.org/

Congratulations to Team Regentec for another great year in fundraising for LLS!
